I’m showing up for most(?) of the day on Monday, despite that being my birthday. After which, uh-uh. I’m really behind on not-work things, was really sick last weekend (and still a little tired from that), and things have been a little crazy at home due to my mother getting diagnosed with advanced cancer.

Very glad it’s Friday, I must say.

Sorry to hear about your mom. I lost mine to cancer a couple of years ago. Losing a parent sucks, especially when they still had decades left in them (grandma and great grandma both lived into their late 80s).

Yeah, that’s about how this is - exactly how long is hard to say based on still studying treatment options , but her mother and grandmother hit 97 and 100+. She’s 66.

My mother’s was endometrial. I wonder what might have caused it given that her female relatives on both sides lived so long. I think our modern lives are exposing us to more and more damaging products. Yeah, we have the medicine to extend life further than before, but I have to wonder if we have hit peak life expectancy and are now on the down slide.
